When working with business, we appreciate that any commercial space is ultimately a business tool, greatly influencing the budget, ROI, behavior scenarios, and overall perception by the end users, thus determining the feasibility and success of a project.

For any tool to work well, it has to be made and tuned for the job. At Space Strategy Lab, our cross-disciplinary team does just that. We strategically use research, financial modeling, design automation software, and branding to make informed decisions at the early stages of a project and create spaces that perform as well as they look.

Explore our capabilities and methodology below.

RESEARCH, DATA COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS

The key to a successful project is meticulous data collection. We survey, measure, define quantifiable KPIs, and record every input that impacts the project and the business case. All collected data is being structured, digitized and turned into a machine-readable format.

DESIGN FEEDBACK AUTOMATION AND SCENARIO MODELING

Having identified key project objectives, we create parametric space utilization models around them. That allows us to test multiple design scenarios against selected performance criteria. Such a systemic approach enables us to transcend the limitations of the human mind and arrive at the best possible solution.

BRANDING AND SPACE ESSENCE

Working with HoReCa and Retail, we strategically use design and architecture to express the essence of an existing brand or create a distinctive new one. At the strategic level, we develop a design vocabulary of shapes, proportions, materials, and colors to communicate a brand message at the subconscious level.

At the touchpoint, wayfinding, and POS level, we blend architecture and graphic design to create an immersive, coherent, 360-degree design experience.

SPACE USAGE STRATEGY

At this stage, we combine all the inputs, resolve all the contradictions, evaluate all the options against performance criteria, and use deductive reasoning to develop an optimal Space Usage Strategy that is easy to understand and communicate on both logical and intuitive levels. Strategy becomes a foundation for further design development.

Explore the common use cases below.

While tailored for developing best-use, workspace, or retail strategies, the SSL approach is relevant in any case involving the two elements: physical space and a business objective.
